On the last day of first grade, I was awarded the distinction of Class Journalist. I spent much of my childhood writing stories, songs, plays, and poems, and shared them with anyone who expressed the slightest bit of interest.

Since then, I have written for both public and private entities, colossal companies and one-woman operations. My clients and subjects have included an 84-year-old southern baker, an esteemed CEO, the quirky founder of a nonprofit, a firefighter who dedicates her career to saving animals, a poetic Iraq war veteran, and a young artist who stumbled into a prominent role in a political movement.

I pride myself on my ability to think outside the box when creating content and coaching students. My background in government and film studies lends itself well to this, as it has given me communications experience beyond the page.

I had a blast getting my MFA in creative nonfiction writing from Sarah Lawrence College, my BA in government and film studies from Smith College, and studying journalism at the University of Pittsburgh Honors College.

A Philadelphia native who has finally returned home, I have also worked in Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
